Graduation towers

Graduation towers

The unique and the largest wooden structure in Europe for evaporation of water from the brine, were designed by Jakub Graff - professor of the Mining Academy in Kielce. Three such structures were built in Ciechocinek - arranged in a horseshoe shape.

The construction of the graduation towers I and II lasted from 1824 to 1828, the third was built in 1859. The base of the graduation tower is made up of about 7000 oak stakes stuck in the ground, on which a spruce and pine construction filled with blackthorn was placed, where the brine flows.
